Dr. Neha Gupta, Head, Department of Architecture and Planning, NSUT West Campus, is an accomplished academic and researcher specializing in energy-efficient building design. She completed her PhD in semi-transparent photovoltaic thermal systems from IIT Delhi in 2017 and previously graduated with M. Ekistics (Hons.) and B. Architecture from Jamia Millia Islamia University. She has also completed courses at IIT Delhi in "Solar Architecture," "Application of Renewable Energy Sources," and "Non-Conventional Sources of Energy."
She has several international SCI publications and papers in national and international conferences to her credit with an h-index of 10 (having almost 15 years of full-time working experience in the industry). Additionally, she has also authored two books with publishing houses like Taylor and Frances and serves as an editor for International Conference Proceedings with Springer in 2024 (two volumes, ongoing).
Dr. Neha Gupta is an accomplished researcher and industrial professional, having cleared exams like UP PSC and RPSC, and has served various government organizations like the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority, Jamia Millia Islamia, Uttar Pradesh Public Works Departments (as a Gazetted Officer), and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. While there, she worked on several projects involving green homes and sustainable mass rapid transit, such as the decorated Noida-Greater Noida metro corridor (21 stations, depot, housing, PEB works, etc.), for which she received special praise from the Managing Director of Noida Metro Rail Corporation and the prestigious "Director Award" from DMRC. The organization also invited her to speak about solar architecture and passive design in the Knowledge Session. Her work has also frequently received special mentions in a number of DMRC periodicals. She is also responsible as the architect for the newly opened Dwarka IICC station, which is the largest underground station of Delhi (inaugurated by the Prime Minister in 2023) and was also involved with the priority Corridor of Phase IV. In addition to this, she also received an appreciation letter from the MD/ Noida Metro Rail Corporation for the Aqua line, and the project (Aqua line) got registered twice in the Limca Book of Records for the pace of the project. She is responsible for the platinum rating for the Aqua line and the first-time DMRC having IGBC certification for depot and housing under their respective categories and was also rewarded by DMRC for her contributions to the field of green design.
Her research focuses on self-sustainable energy solutions, addressing hot and cold climates. Recognized globally, she has received prestigious awards like the Young Engineers Award, The Institution of Engineers, India, the Real Women Award, Best Researcher Award and rewarded with memberships from organizations like International solar energy society (twice), world research council etc. Passionate about green architecture, her internationally acknowledged research integrates innovative solar technologies, advancing India’s efforts toward energy security and sustainability.
