Dr. Mahfuzuar Rahman Barbhuiya, popularly known as Mehfuz, is an Architect, Planner and Urban Data Analyst. He graduated in Architecture from NIT Bhopal in 2013 and further completed his post-graduation from IIT Roorkee in Urban and Rural Planning. Post-masters, he worked for a year as a Research Assistant at IIT Roorkee for a HUDCO-funded project. He defended his PhD thesis at IIT Kanpur in March 2023. Currently, Dr. Mehfuz is working as an Assistant Professor at Netaji Subhas University of Technology, Delhi. He is engaged in various consultancy, research and freelance projects ranging from Architecture, Design and Planning. Mehfuz is an Accredited Professional of IGBC and a Certified Professional of GRIHA. He was a recipient prestigious ‘Graduate Scholar Award’ in 2015 and 2016 by Common Ground Publishing for his exemplary research works. He has delivered many guest lectures at conferences, FDPs and special sessions. He has been an invited expert for many workshops and knowledge-building seminars. Dr. Mehfuz is also the Asia Pacific Member of TTRA and ISRS. As a researcher, he has published several papers in International Journals and research pieces as book chapters with leading international publishers and several paper presentations at international conferences. He got his work titled “Thesis Manual for Bachelor of Architecture” copy-righted from the Copyright Office, Government of India, in July 2020. Mahfuzuar is an active reviewer of Tourism in International Cities by Emerald Publication, Tourism Recreation Research and Cogent Business & Management by Taylor and Francis Group and International Journal of Hospitality Management and Tourism Management Perspective by Elsevier Publication. Mahfuzuar is co-organizer of the ‘6th International Eco- Summit Congress 2023’ symposium organized by Elsevier Publications from June 13-17, 2023, at Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. Mahfuzuar is also a organizing member of a Conference Session at the ‘4th International and Interdisciplinary Conference on Spatial Methods for Urban Sustainability (SMUS Conference)’ 2024.
