The aim of the Renewable Energy Sources lab is to familiarize the students with the various renewable energy sources, and help them to understand the operating characteristics under variable test conditions. The students will be able to develop the simulation models for renewable energy based systems and will be able to test and validate the developed model in real-time scenarios. The students will be able to learn the system modelling, simulation and will have hands-on experience for their real-time validation. At present, this lab is under development phase and following major components/instruments are planned for exploiting, testing and validating the renewable energy based systems:

• Various softwares for performing the system modelling and numerical simulations
• Simulation-in-the-loop set-ups
• Real-time simulator
• DC microgrid
• Wind energy emulator
• Fuel cell set-up
