Raj Senani was born on March 14, 1950 at Budaun, UP. He obtained B.Sc. in 1966 from Lucknow University, B.Sc. Engineering in Electrical Engineering in 1971 from HBTI, Kanpur, M.E. (Electrical Engineering) with Honours in 1974 from MNREC (now MNNIT), Allahabad and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering for his work on the Realization of Some Classes of Active Networks in 1988, from MNREC, University of Allahabad.


Dr. Senani held the positions of Lecturer (1975-1986) and Reader (1987-1988) at the EE Department of MNREC, Allahabad. He joined the ECE Department of the Delhi Institute of Technology, Delhi in 1988 as an Assistant Professor. He became a Professor in 1990. Since then, he has served as Head, ECE Department (1990-1993, 1997-1998), Head Applied Sciences (1993-1996), Head, Manufacturing Processes and Automation Engineering (1996-1998), Dean Research (1993-1996), Dean Academic (1996-1997), Dean Administration (1997-1999), Dean Post Graduate Studies (1997-2001) and Director, Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT) during June 1996-September 1996, February 1997-June 1997 and May 2003-January 2004. He served as the Head, Division of ECE from 2000 till July 2014, as Dean, Faculty of Technology, University of Delhi, during July 2011-July 2014 and as Director of NSIT, from October 2008-till December 2014.


After his superannuation on 31st March, 2015, he has been re-employed as a Professor, in the Division of ECE, NSIT and concurrently, is also working as an Adjunct Professor for NIT, Patna.


Professor Senani's areas of teaching and research interest are Analog VLSI Circuits, Analog Signal Processing, Current-Mode Circuits, Electronic Instrumentation and Chaotic oscillators. He has authored/co-authored over 150 international research publications- which have received, as per Google Scholar, over 3800 citations with an h-index of 34 and i-10 index of over 100 so far. He has authored/co-authored 04 book chapters for two Springer books and 04 monographs three of which are published by Springer, namely, `Current feedback operational amplifiers and their applications’, Springer Science+Business Media, New York, 2013; `Current Conveyors: Variants, Applications and Hardware Implementations’, Springer International Publishing, Switzerland, 2015 and `Sinusoidal Oscillators and Waveform Generators employing Modern Electronic Circuit Building Blocks’, Springer, Switzerland 2016.


He is functioning as an Editorial reviewer for over 30 international journals including several of IEEE (USA) and IET (UK) Journals. He has served as the Honorary Editor of Circuits and Systems for IETE Journal of Research during 1992-1995, 2007-2008, is currently serving as Editor-in-Chief for IETE Journal of Education. He is serving as an Associate Editor for Circuits, Systems and Signal Processing (Birkhauser-Boston, USA) since 2003 besides being Member of Editorial boards of 07 other international journals.


Professor Senani is a Member of Sigma Xi (The Scientific Research Society, USA), a Senior Member of IEEE (USA), a Life Member of ISTE (India), a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India) and a Life Fellow of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE, India). He was elected a Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI) in 2008 for his contributions to Analog Integrated Circuits and Signal Processing and Analog VLSI. He is the recipient of the Second Laureate of the 25th Khwarizmi International Awards, bestowed upon him by Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology (IROST) in 2012. His biography has been included in several editions of a number of international directories such as those of Marquis' Who's Who, International Biographical Centre, American Biographical Institute and several others.
