Established in 2021, the department of Architecture and Planning is one of the newest departments of NSUT. The department is located in NSUT West Campus and together with the Department of Civil Engineering forms the Faculty of Infrastructure Technology. The department has been established with the main motive to contribute significantly to the areas of teaching, research and consultancy.

Currently the department offers the degree of Bachelor of Architecture which is duly recognised by the Council of Architecture, India. The objective of the department is to prepare students with necessary core competencies to succeed as architects and professionals in the building construction industry.

Our five-year Bachelor of Architecture programme has the following Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs):

  1. Conceptualise and design innovative architectural solutions that respond to societal, environmental and aesthetic needs of the society.
  2. Ensure technical accuracy and competence in application of architectural principles, construction technologies, structural systems and digital tools.
  3. Evaluate architectural history, theory and the sociocultural context of design to understand the evolution of architecture and its impact on different cultures, traditions and communities.
  4. Design and develop environmentally responsive architecture that addresses global challenges such as climate change, resource conservation and energy efficiency.
  5. Establish professional practice entailing architectural ethics, project management, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and legal and regulatory frameworks that guide the architectural profession.
