Geoinformatics is a interdisciplinary department which combines the use of geospatial data with information science and technology. It offers a mixture of analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills in a field which is immensely important in today's data-driven world. The department finds its importance in various fields such as defence technology, urban planning, disaster mitigation, natural resource exploration, transportation, planetary science and many more. With the ongoing technological advancements, the subject geoinformatics is also evolving and is used for solving real world problems, majorly with the help of remote sensing. At NSUT, Geoinformatics is pursued under the able guidance of faculty of Information Technology and Civil Engineering.
