Bio-Sketch
Dr. Shikha Sharma received her B.Sc. Hons. (Chemistry) in 2012 from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi and M.Sc. (Chemistry) from IIT Roorkee in 2014. She has been awarded “Ramesh Goel Memorial Prize” and “Sardar Hansa Singh Memorial Chemistry Prize” in year 2010-2011 at St. Stephen’s college, Delhi” in year 2010-2011 for being the best student in all years. She has also received “Science Meritorious Scholarship” and “KPMG Scholarship” by the Department of Chemistry, University of Delhi for being the meritorious student of DU. She is a holder of DST-INSPIRE scholarship award for the academic year 2009-2014 (awarded to only top 1% students based on their performance at the National level). She has earned a Ph.D. degree in Chemical Sciences from IISc Bangalore in the year 2020. During her doctoral tenure, she engaged herself into diverse problems in the domain of materials chemistry, specifically focusing on the design and synthesis of organic materials and their applications in photovoltaics and energy storage. Besides her research at IISc, Dr Sharma has worked on a collaborative project with Professor Sir Richard Friend's group at University of Cambridge from Feb 2017-March 2017 to study the possibility of Singlet fission in conjugated organic molecules. In another collaborative effort, she worked with Professor Henry Snaith's group at University of Oxford from Sep 2015-Oct 2015. Here, the focus was to fabricate devices with already synthesized organic electron-transport material (ETM) in inverted planar heterojunction Perovskite solar cells (PSC). She has got four publications and one ECS meeting abstractin reputed international journals during her doctorate. She then worked with Dr. Sandeep Pathak at IIT Delhi as a Project Scientist for a period of six months. She has received prestigious Dr. D.S. Kothari Post-doctoral fellowship in 2021 followed by joining Dr. Pritam Mukhopadhyay’s lab as Post-doctoral fellow at JNU, New Delhi in October 2021. Her research work has been well received and accoladed at various National and International Symposia. Dr Sharma has been working as Visiting faculty at Department of Chemistry NSUT, Dwarka since December 2021.

Areas of Interest: Synthesis and applications of microporous organic polymers for dye adsorption and fluorescence sensing, Design and Synthesis of Organic semiconductors for applications in Optoelectronics and Electrochemical Energy Storage Systems, Materials Science.
