Dr. Jitendra Singh Rathore did graduation in Life Sciences followed by Post Graduated Diploma in Biochemical Technology from University of Delhi. Later, he joined Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee with studentship scholarship from Department of Biotechnology, New Delhi for M.Sc. program in Biotechnology. After qualifying NET-LS, NET-JRF and GATE, he joined Prof. Rakesh Bhatnagar’s lab at School of Biotechnology, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) New Delhi an United Nation Institute, for his Ph.D. program. He recipient of international travel grant from Council of Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi to attend American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB) conference at Washington DC, USA, in 2007. He is also a predoctoral travel awardee from American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB), USA. He is recipient of prestigious Fulbright postdoctoral fellowship from United States-India Education Foundation (USIEF), USA and did postdoc from Perelman School of Medicine, Department of Microbiology, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA as Fulbright Postdoctoral Fellow. He has 20 years of experience in molecular bacteriology and genetics. He is proficient in gene cloning, expression and purification of recombinant proteins using AKTA explorer. He also has expertise in Primer Extension, FACS, Western blotting, Site Directed Mutagenesis, Southern and Northern hybridization. His area of research is to decipher the role of Toxin-Antitoxin (TA) modules in biofilm formation, antibiotic resistance, and persister cell formation using TAomics approach. He is using Xenorhabdus nematophila and Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Acinetobacter baumannii as model system. His research is funded by Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB)-Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt of India, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) New Delhi, India and Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi, India.
