
Dr. Umer Ashraf is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, at Netaji Subhas University of Technology, New Delhi. Before joining NSUT, he worked as an Assistant professor at the Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra. He completed his B.Tech and M.Tech from state government Universities, namely Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (2012) and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (2015). He completed his PhD from NIT Srinagar in the area of wireless communication. He worked as a research fellow at IIT Delhi (2022) and a post-doctoral research fellow in the Future Communications Translation Lab at the Singapore Institute of Technology (2023). He has taught several courses at NIT Srinagar and BIT, Mesra. He is also a reviewer for many International Journals and conferences. His research interests include Intelligent Reflecting Surfaces (IRS), Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA), Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and Machine Learning (ML).
